[Please note that if you are used to being on Proboards, these rules are really common sense anyway. If you are new to roleplaying then you should read this.]
1. Respect. The world does not revolve around one person, you need to treat others as you want to be treated. While I understand you're not going to love everyone who appears, at least make an effort and if you don't like them then simply leave it at that.
There's no need to insult other people. It does nothing constructive, being able to be around others you don't like is an Art people will love. Or at least I will <3
Though I allow swears and the such, I will get mad at people who go overboard. Any racist or homophobic comments which are out of character and you will be automatically banned. In-Character you can describe your characters hate or fear, but don't go further.
So Respect To Your Fellows Or I'll Disrespect You.
2. Graphic content. Unfortunately this board caters to what smothering parents think thirteen year olds should be exposed to. Ridiculous, I know... but those are the rules and you can have your board deleted for any acts of a sexual nature.
Yeah... cause if you're 13 and sitting on a computer with free internet access you won't know about Any of that, and I wouldn't want to corrupt your poor innocent mind.
*Kicks terms of service*
But anyway, just keep that out of the public view which means don't shove it in threads for anyone to see.
3. Personal details. Giving out personal details here doesn't mean you can't tell someone how old you are, your first name, where you work or mundane things like that where a million people could say the same. Personal details means, no phone number, don't give out your full name or address.
I don't even give out my first name, and the closest you can pin me to is England- and that's all I give out and its enough. Judge a person on how they write, rather than asking people and maybe putting them in an uncomfortable position, try to work it out. Make a game of it. >.O
4. Posting. As far as posting is concerned, you need to have context in them. If people are talking about... Fuzzy Pie Fuggles, you don't come in and start talking about Eragon from nowhere. Nor do you post a million times in a row, double posting, or triple, or quadruple posting is forbidden. You can modify your old posts if needed.
Spamming (Like just posting emoticons, random information or gobbledygook) isn't what people like to read, and I don't want it here.
If you really have to say random things, make your own thread or say it in the C-box. PM's are alright if you're friends with the person, but bear in mind alot of people will find it weird to see they have a message and then find someone has just sent them pictures of their rats.
When posting, also keep in mind other people have to read it. I understand a few spelling mistakes, but if your post is unrecognisable as English, or is made up of chat-speak then I'll delete it. Keep things relevant please!
5. Characters. You must wait for your character to be accepted before you begin to roleplay. Even if you think your description is fine, you must wait a short while for a staff member to unofficially recognise you, or for me to officially put you into Accepted Characters.
If you leave the site with no explanation, I will either put your character up for adoption or simply proclaim them dead depending on how important or how much of an impact your character has made.
6. Powerplaying & Godmoding. Do not Powerplay or Godmode.
Powerplaying is when your character is immensely strong, it does not tire or become injured. This is when the character is said to be faster, stronger and smarter than yours.
Godmoding is when your character becomes a mind-reading telekinetic freak. It always knows what the other character is going to do, its attacks no matter how unbelievable, or uncoordinated always hit. Godmoders control other characters 90% of the time, saying they 'Brought blood' without giving the other person time to respond.
Rather than pushing the post along to how you want it to go, you should give people the choice, don't write things like your character getting an idea for the characters to do and then running off with them to do it with the other character in tow- You have to give the other person a chance to say whether or not their character actually wants to go with your character.
Lets clear things up: you cannot say your character hits the other, you must describe the move it uses trying to hit the other character. And at the same time, the other character can't miraculously dodge every time with no consequences, use your imagination to see the battle and don't do things which would be physically impossible.
7. Staff. Ahoy Scurvy Sea-dogs! I want no mutiny from yer! If you want a position of power, you have to earn it. I pick people either for good roleplaying, or by showing an active interest in the sites wellbeing. No bugging me to become staff, if I decide its right you'll get a surprise.
And for those normal little members, well you must obey all people I deem right to be staff in the mundane things. If you get told to do or not do something odd you don't think is right, take it to a higher member rather than squabbling.
