Names: Phantom and Vengeance
Gender: Males
Age: 12 moons
Pack: Nightpack
Rank: Wolves of time
Description: i21.tinypic.com/equput.jpg
They are identical twins, and if it weren't for a scar
that mars Vengeance's right eye, the orb of which has been
destroyed, they would be impossible to tell apart. Their fur is a
lustrous black, thick, and so smooth that the temptation to reach
out and touch it is very great. They are long-limbed and finely
muscled, impossibly fast but also very strong, though this last
cannot be told by sight. They are so refined in appearance that it
is impossible to guess at their power and ferocity. It is something
that has to be learned the hard way. Their eyes are yellow, not
gold, but actually a very bright and startling yellow, like the
petals of the poisonous buttercup flower. The odd-colored orbs
grace their countenance in a regal set, slanted as those of a
feline, with that same clever cast that even the slowest cat has.
Their fangs are a bit longer than average, and the white tips
protrude from their lips even when their mouths are closed. And
finally, their most memorable feature. They have a white mask
marking across their eyes. It is impossible to miss, for the pure
white blazes against their ebony coats and draws both gazes...
and suspicion. Each brother sports quite a collection of scars
beneath their wondrous raven-black pelts, but the marks are
indicernable beneath the full, luxurious coats.
Personality: The brothers are both vain and proud, as all
handsome creatures tend to be. Throw in their rank, and you've
got a pair of infuriatingly arrogant, but very beautiful, wolves.
Despite their physical grace and disarming beauty, they are quite
fond of destruction, and if it weren't for the fact that they needed
their fellow wolves in the ongoing battle against the cats, they
would tear apart their canine relatives as quickly as they would
their feline enemy. What they love most is a slow battle, the
chance to draw out the suffering of their opponent, to let them
think they are winning even though victory is impossible
against wolves of time. A good game of cat and mouse is their
greatest pleasure, for they are greatly sadistic and enjoy torture
as no entirely sane creature could. They respect nothing except
other wolves of time. For the majority who don't fit the bill...
tough luck. If they didn't want to be tortured, they would have
been born of higher standing.
History: Their mother was Breeze, their father Leaf. Simple names
for simple, low-ranking wolves. The twins were the only pups in
their litter, and twisted from the start. Though greatly admired for
their physical perfection at first, the rest of the pack soon
realised that something was wrong. The pups would often
wonder off on their own to 'play', into the thick forest, and from
the depths of the trees, not long after they vanished from sight,
could be heard terrible, tortured shrieks of agony. This made their
pack mates incredibly superstitious, and soon the pair was
referred to as the pack curse, the ghostly revenge, the Phantom
Vengeance. The twins were greatly amused by this and began
calling themselves by their 'curse names', Phantom and
Vengeance. They had tormented their small, unofficial pack of
loners for only twelve moons when a rogue prophet slipped
through their territory. Her name had been Gypsy, and she
specialise in false predictions and prophecies that turned wolves
against each other. Phantom and Vengeance proved very easy
marks. Gypsy told their pack of the cursed mask mark, and how
creatures that bore it were deception incarnate. The pack must
not be fooled by their awe-inspiring beauty, she said, for beneath
that perfect exterior lay wicked, conniving souls that would soon
bring about the destruction of the pack if left to their own
devices. Of course, there was actually a great deal of truth to
this, though Phantom and Vengeance didn't appreciate the lucky
guess. The pack members, kept in a heightened state of fear for
some time, turned on the young wolves. Breeze and Leaf did
nothing to protect their sons. On the contrary, they were at the
head of the group that clamored for their destruction. A fight
ensued, Phantom and Vengeance making a flawless team,
fighting as one creature. The wolves that outnumbered them
were weakened by fear and fought in an unthinking frenzy.
Phantom and Vengeance made it through the fight alive because
of that weakness, but it had been their only advantage. Luck
played a greater role in their survival, and even then they had
taken quite a bit of damage. Vengeance had lost his right eye,
and the pelts of both brothers were shredded and streaming
blood. The bodies of their attackers lay lifeless about them, but
the blood loss the brothers were subjected too through their
many grevious wounds was quickly killing them. It wasn't much of
a victory at all. But Starclan interfered, and rewarded the brothers
for their valiance. As the brothers lay dying, Starclan came to
them and told them that they would survive. Survive, and become
wolves of time. When they were released from the vision
message, their wounds were healed, though they kept the scars.
The pair set out to take advantage of their rank, and found
Nightclan.
